And a Dog

The world looks better from the back of a horse and the roads of life are easier with a good dog beside you.

What does the future hold

It scares me a little to think what the world will be like for my great grandchildren. In my lifetime, I've seen so many changes. Will I live to see the day they find the cure for cancer. I remember my mother saying that she wondered if they would ever find the cure for polio. It was her greatest fear that me or my brother would be struck with the crippling disease.

Each generation have different fears but if we as the human race stay compassionate, moral and educated I think we can accept any change. But if we keep to the self destructive ways the majority of the world have and continue to worship money and power... well I think we're on our way to extinction.

Do you ever dream of simpler times where families ate together, prayed together, and enjoyed each others company?

I've got friends in low places...

I really love that song and its meaning. I watched Garth on a rerun of Oprah and he sang it.

Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots

Oh yes, I can see me doing that and then two-step around the room

And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you'd see there

Yep, a party is a party... the only difference is a redneck party is fun!

And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain

You can have her friend

'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places

I'm blowing this place and going where people accepts you for who you are not who or what your money projects

Okay, got you go sing to the dog. Why? Well I know who I am, that is a person who couldn't carry a tune if she had it in a bucket. But I've got friends in low places... lalalala

Y'all have a great weekend. Got a friend visitin' this weekend and won't be doing the computer thingy.

I am a slacker but not for long

I have not stayed up with the books coming out or read like I should be reading or write like I should be writing. I've been a lazy housekeeper, friend and sister/daughter... the only place I've stayed the same is as Granny. Why have I been slacking???? well the bad winter made me jump the railing of my schedule and I've never really got back on track. I was stretched out on the couch yesterday like a slug and realized I really didn't want to be there but was doing it anyway, like from habit.
Do you get stuck in a rut and wish you could get out but can't seem to make it over the edge?? Make a list of what needs to be done the next day and push to do it. In a week your list will be finished by noon and you will feel better about yourself. The first few days you might have to transfer items from one day to the next but that is okay, the list is to keep them in front of you not behind or under the soft cozy blanket on the couch.

Oh my Gosh... I've caugth Nap-ist from my friends

Second nap in two days... what the heck is going on... I never, never take naps -- well that isn't true any more. I can't wait for daylight savings time to start next weekend. I like more daylight in the evenings.
Time to sit on the porch and soak up sun, play with dog, and rock. Man, life is good when you have a swing on a porch that faces the west and a dog that will play fetch.

Rainy Days in Alabama

We had a horse clinic today at the barn and of course it rained like the days of Noah... but it was cozy too... all the kids at the barn and dogs too (that was fun until Ella fell in a puddle and got in trouble) all the stalls had a horse looking out and the rain drumming on the metal roof. Rainy days are for old people as much as for the watering every thing outside... nice nap on the couch. Okay Jana, I can hear you yelling get to writing... I feel all refreshed now :)
