Love how a book is written and hate the theme of the book.. I'm not going to say which book, that is just mean but this lady can write her heart out. I've stored phases from the book in my best I've read file in my brain.
My friends tell me I'm a mean reader.... I guess I am.... but with this book, I want to put it down but can't. argggggg
My favorite book is "Each Little Bird That Sings" by Deborah Wiles. Why do I love it so much?? The book made me laugh... out loud... it made me cry... out loud... it made me sigh, smile, get mad, ache for the character not to do something, tell the character to turn back .... I love this book.
I also love her book "Love, Ruby Lavender"

Write, Right, Gripe....
We are going to have a guessing game today... which of the above words describes my mood.... a few clues. I've been sick, I've had way too much time on my hands and I've not got anything done, the neighbors dog killed five of my chickens and I had to get mean to make them either chain it or get rid of it, well really they are neighbors but renting neighbors but that doesn't really matter... I've spent a lot of time and money on these chickens and they might not seem important to some but they are mine, on my property and I will protect them.
So what word describes my mood...I'm smiling... gripe is correct. But this picture of my granddaughter in Florida made me feel better. and yes ... she is always happy.

Happy Birthday to my best friend
I married this man 43 years ago June 27 and today he is 60 years old.... yep he was a youngun when I married him but I wasn't much older... we'll be the same age until Aug 5
The young picture are with his Daddy. The middle picture is Ronnie and me when we were dating
The last ones are today and the very last one lets you know he is a man and never says "I can't"

This picture is what I want to be...someday :)
Doesn't it just look wise, full of knowledge, stories just waiting to be told, history seen first hand, majestic
The knots in its bark and the moss on its limbs just make me want to know its story.
My friends, there are stories all around us and many of them die each day ... untold... get the history of your neighbor, visit the homes and talk to the people willing to share, ask your mother questions you might want answered because in the morning it might be too late. Share your story with someone that will pass it on.

I'm blessed with colorful days
Every morning at 6:30am I let my chickens out. I collect the eggs. Before too long, I'm going to need to take a basket because I have 24 up-and-coming layers. That is different than 9 hens that lay six to seven eggs a day. What am I going to do with that many eggs a day. I give them away. I know I could sell them but my chickens are not a business, they are a stress reliever. I just love watching them.
May you have a colorful day too.

We're always different
Last Friday we had nasty thunderstorms and many of my neighbors had trees to cut up and yards to pick up as weekend jobs.
I was busy at work this morning...a gentle rain and not wind morning... when my neighbor (who is also my sister-in-law) calls and asks, "Did a tree fall in your front yard?"
Me: When?
Her: Was a tree down when you went to work
Me: Where?
Her: In your front yard
Me: No
Her: Well, there's one down now
She was only seeing the limbs and two large limbs were still twisted and hanging ... so she thought it was a tree.
But really, what does it mean when your trees make it in a storm and comes apart when it's calm.

Here comes the rain... and the wind
Don't you just hate it when you get mixed blessings. We have been praying for rain and Friday afternoon we got it... boy did we get it.
The lightning, the rain and the WIND!!!
No damage at my house but some of my neighbors were not as lucky. Irene and two of her boys were visiting and thought I was a mad woman when I said in a stern voice... "Get to the basement!" When I saw the sky turn orangey pink, the trees bending then twist the other way and lightning danced across my front yard... no really it danced along the top of the ground.. I knew something was going to happen.
The pictures are of the school about three miles from my house. Trees were down everywhere. But we really did need the rain.

I don't groom cats
I've been a groomer for over thirty years and early on in my career I learned that grooming cats wasn't worth the money you got to do them. So, I've always stated that I didn't groom cats. Still don't but I do help a friend sometimes that does groom cats and I went to help her Monday afternoon. They say a picture is worth a thousand words.... This is the reason I don't do cats. These looked much worse on Tuesday and for those of you that know me well... yes the cat escaped unharmed.
