All is right with the world. My tomatoes and peppers are growing and the other vegetables are coming up. They are pushing their little green heads toward the sunshine so I can reap their bounty in about six to eight weeks. YUM!

I had a garden one year and the food was so wonderful. I loved slicing a ripe tomato straight from the garden and eating it...along with those fat green beans and corn on the cob. Unfortunately, I quickly realized raising a garden is a LOT of work, and there weren't enough hours in the day for me to take care of it, the horses, the dogs, the kids and all the household chores. So that was my one and only summer with a vegetable garden. Luckily, I have very nice neighbors who share their vegetables with us; it's the not the same as having our own, but it gives us a taste of the fresh vegetables we so enjoy.
